Honda & Acura Walnut Blasting Adapters

These walnut blasting adapters are designed specifically for Honda and Acura direct-injected engines to simplify intake valve carbon cleaning.

Direct-injected engines are prone to carbon buildup on the backs of the intake valves over time. These adapters allow a walnut blasting machine to seal directly to each intake port, making carbon removal cleaner, faster, and more efficient.

Each adapter fits securely into the intake port and provides dedicated passages for both the walnut blasting nozzle and the vacuum system.

How It Works

Each adapter is designed with two openings:

• Center Port – Allows the walnut blasting nozzle to pass through and direct walnut media onto the intake valves.
• Vacuum Port – Connects to the vacuum hose to continuously remove walnut media and loosened carbon during the cleaning process.

The adapters fit snugly into each intake runner, helping maintain an effective seal throughout the cleaning process.

Material

These adapters are printed from 95A TPU, providing the ideal balance of flexibility and rigidity.

The material allows the adapters to conform to the intake ports while remaining durable enough for repeated shop use.

Machine Compatibility

These adapters were modeled and tested using the walnut blasting machine supplied to Honda dealerships. While they may be compatible with other walnut blasting systems, compatibility with aftermarket machines has not been verified.

The adapter dimensions are as follows:

• Vacuum hose connection: 38 mm
• Walnut blast nozzle: 9 mm

Notes

• These tools are fully 3D printed. Minor surface variations or small discrepancies in the print are normal due to the printing process and do not affect performance.
• Certain brake cleaners may cause surface discoloration. This does not compromise tool function.
• Vehicle Access: The V6 Earth Dreams, V6 DOHC, and 3rd Generation Honda Fit adapters can be used with the cylinder head installed in the vehicle. Due to limited access, the 1.5L Turbo and K-Series/K24 Earth Dreams adapters may require a modified walnut blasting nozzle for in-vehicle use. I am currently exploring a cost-effective custom blasting wand solution and hope to offer one in the future.
